When the wires pass through the ceramic caged pulley, the wire runs on a highly polished guide surface between two diamond polished side plates, keeping friction to a minimum. A floating ball or one or two protruding ears prevent the wire from going to other side.

Size of Ceramic Caged Pulley
These Ceramic Cage Pulleys are made of fine ceramic (Alumina Al2O3), with their surfaces polished to ultra-fine Ra0.2 finish. There is a high-speed precision bearing within the ceramic roller which keeps the sliding distance between the enameled wire and the roller below 0.2 mm, so as to protect the coating of the wire and to maintain the stability of the wire tension.
